The SANSUI Fingertip Pulse Oximeter is manufactured and designed for sports aviators, trainers, enthusiasts, bikers, mountain climbers, hikers or anyone who wants to obtain their SpO2 on the go! Measures your blood oxygen levels and pulse strength in 10-12 seconds. Taking a reading is easy, just clip it on to your finger and turn it on at the press of a button. The large TFT color display makes viewing the results a snap. Its small size and lanyard makes it convenient and easy to carry around.

Reading Reliability

PI indicates the pulse strength at the sensor site. A regular pulse rate in sinus rhythm waveform graph ensures the reliability of the readings. If the waveform is a flat line or a block, the sensor is unable to read correctly. Place the finger properly inside and place on a flat surface to correct the reading.

PERFUSION INDEX AND PLETHYSMOGRAPH

Perfusion Index

The perfusion index is a convenient way to tell you the intensity of your pulse. If the value is less than 0.2%, it means your hand is too cold or the position in the oximeter is incorrect. Just heat your finger and reposition your finger so that it is between the red LED light and the sensor. There is no need to make a second guess to determine if the reading is reliable or why the pulse oximeter cannot give a reading.

Plethysmograph – SpO2 Waveform

The change in blood volume can be detected in peripheral parts of the body such as the fingertip or ear lobe using a technique called photoplethysmography. It can measure the change in the volume of arterial blood with each pulse beat. The pulse oximeter that detects the signal is called a plethysmograph (or ‘Pleth’ for short)
